The offense is great to see, but for me, the performance of Jerome is the real highlight of the day. If the Cubs are going to get an extra bat, it may have to be by trading him...

I hope not. Mitre is available...

JW gets a hit. Cubbie pitchers can swing the bats. 6 game hitting streak for the pitchers.

Okay, Fred, here is a challenging one for ya. What is the Cubs record when the Cubs pitchers get a hit versus when they don't?

You can't possibly have that on file, can you?

You're right, I don't have that on file..... but it may be worth adding that one. I like it.

Fred your meaningless stats are great... can you give me one? What's the Cubs' record when they (a) walk 4 or more times, and (b) when the Cubs allow 4 or more walks?

CUBS are 16-7 when they take 4 or more walks, 30-38 when they don't

CUBS are 11-40 when they issue 4 or more walks, 35-4 when they don't

Wow, that one really stands out... wasn't expecting it to be such a huge difference!

I think I'm not officially depressed, because the Cubs have only drawn 4+ walks in 23 of 91 games. I guarantee you teams like the Cards, Red Sox and Yankees have a much better rate than 1 out of every 4 games for drawing 4 walks.

Thanks for the info!

Heck, it would be impressive if we got an answer at all.

What are we betting?

Jerome performing well is great on two fronts. First, it helps us. Secondly, it increases his trade value if we are inclined to move him.

Hey, I just said that a couple of pages ago. Great minds...

Ugh, I'd be nervous moving Williams I think he has such a bigger upside that starting Mitre or Rusch if we want to compete this year.... The only positive would be if Rich Hill is given a shot at starting and is succesful.
