Thought I'd give this a bump. Borowski has been great for the Rays so far. From Rotoworld:

Joe Borowski - R - TB

Joe Borowski will not be available on today after pitching in three straight games.

Borowski has been unreal since coming to Tampa, allowing just one hit in 5 2/3 innings. Jul. 25 - 12:01 pm et

Yeah, i am glad to see him doing well. He was a good guy and had a great 03 season. I hope he continues this success but i don't know if it will happen. Has anyone actually seen him pitch? Anyone know how hard he's been throwing?

Good for Joe -- He's a good guy and I hope he is able to continue his success in Tampa. That said -- I don't miss him in the Cubs pen. It was time to move on.

5 2/3rds isn't that big of a sample size, but how come he couldn't do that here?

Does anyone know if we get anything for Joe?

it seems as though we should since he was designated for assignment...right?

Nope. He cleared waivers.

yeah, we get a bag of baseballs and a box of sunflower seeds. about what his performance was worth this season.

now, having attempted to be funny, i like joebo and think he's a great guy to have in the clubhouse. but not a single one of us can honestly say their sphincter didn't tighten when you saw him warming up in the pen.

and yes, signing with the d-rays as a veteran is a sign that no one else wanted you. the rays are just putting 9 guys on the field each night and they needed someone, anyone, to take the ball in certain situations.

I was at the game Saturday night against the Orioles and the highest he topped out on any of his pitches was 87 mph. It is not a slow gun there either, because when I was there for a Tigers game Farns put up 99 mph a couple times.

It has been a great start for JoBo with the D-Rays but I can't see him continuing the success with that velocity. I think when the scouting report starts getting around he may start having some trouble.

good grief...borowski has given up a total of ZERO earned runs since being signed by tb. that covers ten appearances (counting tonight) and 9 2/3 ip. only three k's during that span, however.

Rick Reuschel won 214 games with that velocity.

K's are not the be-all-end-all. You can be effective getting grounders and pop-ups.

What is it Brenly has repeatedly said? Location, location, location...

Maybe we can make a deal with the D-Rays to get JoBo back for the stretch drive! Knowing LeMar, we'd probably have to send Jerome Williams.

i'm not going to get into the strikeout argument for the ten billionith time. more times than not, high k guys have more success than low k guys.
