Do you think Hendry was honestly pursuing Preston Wilson, or do you think that was more of a bluff to get other teams to come back down to earth with their high demands?

 

Many of us here at NSBB are relieved that Preston "appears" to be headed to the Nats.

 

What is your take on Cedeno sitting on the bench everyday? Surely, Hendry could not have wanted to see this?

On a related note to the kids, the Cubs 40 man roster currently stands at 42, so do you know how the Cubs are going to pare that down?

They were at 37 before yesterday. They had three spots open for about a week and a half.

Pie would have been up had he not been hurt. The concerns about him are legitimate. That's why I say a real moment of truth is coming for the Baker-Hendry relationship. These young players are bubbling up to the surface. We'll see how they're managed.

What do you think about that situation between playing the kids over the veterans? Do you think Hendry has had discussions with Baker about playing the kids? Or do you think Hendry is insinuating it to Baker by calling up the kids one by one?

Cubs tell me they're at 39 on the 40-man. The Borowski, Wilson, Crouthers and Bartosh moves created some room.

I believe this is just the beginning. Whatever else you want to say about Hendry, one thing he won't do is sit still. I'm running an analysis piece in tomorrow's Daily Herald (shameless plug). I hope we stay dry down here. They're predicting lots of rain for the weekend, but I don't know when it's going to start.
