While I realize there's another thread about this, just wanted to start one wishing Corey good luck. There's still some of us behind you, do the right thing, work hard, and you'll be back. Keep your head up!

A positive Corey thread? And all it took was a humiliating trip to the minors.

Well anyways, good luck Corey. I may not be your biggest fan, but I am also very fickle if you know what I mean :). Go out there and mash the ball, but only if you've worked the count and waited for your pitch.

I agree. It may not seem like it at times but there are still a bunch of people on this board that believe that Corey can be a good baseball player.

Here's to hoping that this thread doesn't get hijacked like I think it will.

The humbling of the ego is always difficult. Sometimes in crisis comes opportunity. I hope Corey comes back stronger than ever, and rebuild's his baseball foundation. Skoal, baby!

Dusty was hoping that getting to be with family would help Corey. Iowa isn't playing for the next few days so he's been sent to Mesa instead, why not send him to Peoria with his brother for a few days? Hill is going there to start, if the Pattersons could play together for a few days it could help.

I remember about a week ago, Corey seemed to be working the count a little more, so I think the extended break might do him good. You know, head down, think about something else, come back stronger.

He can still field well, and can still run fast, so here's hoping he gets the Ks and Hs sorted into order and becomes something like the Corey we hoped he was.

Wow! Rampant Speculation!! Knock it off, you predictor of negativity

Have a good three week stay in Iowa and beat up on AAA pitching Corey--that way we can get something for your underachieving butt in a July 31 trade. Otherwise, we'll let you rot in the minors and waive you in the offseason.

Have fun!!

Go get em Corey. Good luck to Doobie too. I think regular playing time without having to look over his shoulder would have done wonders for Dubios. Oh well...

Yeah because it was really a stretch to assume that would happen.

I say good luck Corey. I expect a trade demand in the next week or two from you, and that last night was probably the last night for you in a Chicago Cubs' uniform.

And if Pie gets brought up after he's healthy to add a "spark", I'm going to be pretty upset.

Bad idea, IMHO. Peoria is too close to Chicago. The media would be all over Corey. Mesa is about as far away from Chicago as he can get in the Cubs system, unless perhaps they sent him to Boise.

He already cleared waivers. So, if they wont take him for nothing... probably wont take him for something.

Seriously, does anyone really know what has happend to Corey since that 2003 year he was having. What was he doing so well then that he's not doing now? is it really all mental? To me, if he's that fragile mentally then he's never going to succeed at the MLB level. Or is it more physical in his swing? And if thats the case shouldn't the coaches be held responsible for the hitting of this team?

The coaches changed his swing this offseason, which I think is to blame for a lot of his added problems this season.

Good luck, Corey! Come back soon.
