Burnitz is a Gamer!!!!

I was ready to hate the guy when he came over here, but he's also won me over with his effort and at the very least adequate defense and production from RF.

 

If he's here next year, I just hope we have a better CF and LF to play with him.

 

adequate defense? I'd say he's had Stellar Defense.

 

Ahhh, robbing Pujols of the HR in RF at St. Louis really comes to mind on that one.

 

That was nice. But where he has really made a difference is in cutting off balls in the gap, holding guys to singles, hitting the cutoff man with strong throws, etc.

 

He has really saved alot of runs this year.

 

Take yesterday's game for example. By my count he prevented runs from scoring three times in that game by simply making a solid throw home. Granted, one of those runs eventually scored, but through no fault of his.

I was happy Burnitz when I saw him hit the cutoff man on more than one occassion. I thought - that's what a competent OF is supposed do and look like, haven't seen one of those in RF for sometime.

I just like the fact that he sounds like he just woke up when he's interviewed.
