Man, I was wrong about Collin Rea. Had a little hiccup in the first inning. But with a runner on 3rd and 0 outs, what a way to man up and get the job done.

This has been a great performance so far for the Cubs. I know we only have 1 run and 1 hit to show for, but driving the pitch count up by the offense has been a win so far.

I horsefeathers talked his signing last off-season and all he has done has consistently made me feel real dumb for that take.

As an aside these are the things I like being wrong about.

I haven't seen a hitter challenge anything in a hot minute. My assumption is that Carson Kelly is *so* good at them, that they don't want hitters to waste them.

That was a strike on Suzuki, but because Contreras horsefeathered up twice, it was a walk.

The rules are kind of dumb, but I gain new appreciations for Kelly every day.

Imagine telling someone 30 years ago that there was going to be a pitcher throwing 103 MPH after his 100th pitch of the night. It’s not fair

Probably cause the pitchers need all the help they can get now, saving them for them
