Halfway through the race. As of Lap 100: Dixon leads; Palou, Malukas, Newgarden, and McLaughlin make up the rest of the top 5 as we prepare to go green again

Red flag has been brought out due to rain.

And yellow flag brought out again for rain in one of the turns. It might be like this for a while, folks.
Malukas has the lead.

Newgarden gets too far down on the apron during the restart and spins, hitting the turn 4 wall hard. Caution is out again.

Apologies for not posting earlier, but we have been green for a while, and pit stops are happening as 3/4ths of this race has been completed.

As of Lap 150: Simpson, Rosenqvist, O’Ward, Armstrong and Schumacher make up the top 5.

O’Ward and Rosenqvist are up front and in the midst of a fuel saving battle that could end up being for the win.

WE HAVE A RED FLAG WITH 8 TO GO! Caio Collet crashed on the backstretch and the car caught on fire.

FELIX ROSENQVIST BEATS DAVID MALUKAS IN A PHOTO FINISH TO WIN THE 110TH RUNNING OF THE INDIANAPOLIS 500! (Pending inspection)

It is the closest finish in Indy 500 history with a margin of 0.018 seconds!

The race has diminished in importance quite a bit over the last 30 years, but the product has never been better than the last few years.  That was an electrifying race all the way through today.

It's still strange watching it on TV live.  It's only been on TV live in Indy a handful of times in my lifetime.

Alex Palou has been issued a post-race penalty after IndyCar Officiating found an “unintentional” modification to the height of the front wing, per Bob Pockrass. Palou’s team will be fined $10,000 and 5 points.

No other post-race inspection news at this time.

No other issues were found during post-race inspection, so that will do it for this year at the Speedway, and my updates for this thread.

Before I sign off tonight, I should mention the recent deaths of both NASCAR driver Kyle Busch and former CART driver Alex Zanardi. May they rest in peace.
