Sweet. I'll have to tape it, even though I have it on DVD. Just hope that they'll have closed captioning, so that my deaf brother, who is a Cub fan, can be able to watch it, since the DVD was not closed captioning or sub-title supported.

this might be the only time I will watch WGN when the Cubs are not on... other than that, the station is really horrible. its reruns and cruddy 80's movies... (at least the Superstation that I get here in MD...)

I've seen the movie, and I enjoyed it. I still say that, based on the way the film is set up, that Santo's son is dislexic. It jumps around. ALot. Still a good movie.

Well when I got this DVD, I can't recall when it was, but it didn't have any sub-titles or anything like that, so that's why I was hoping to see if WGN will be supporting closed captioning for the movie. I might have to e-mail them fine folks at This Old Cub to see if I can figure out a way to get a DVD with the closed captioning, without paying too much, since I already have bought it and all.

 

I looked up on TV listings on Yahoo, and it did say

 

"7:00 p.m. This Old Cub TVPG, CC"

 

So it appears that it is. And not everything had to be captioned, since I'm assuming that it costs extra during a broadcast or something, you know? At least the good thing is that he can now watch the Cubs on WGN, since the baseball games are closed captioned.

I saw this movie for the first time last night. It was extremely moving, and I really enjoyed it.

Yeah, it's really good.

 

It was funny listening to Ronnie saying about that one guy who was asking him for a dating advice, that his GF is a Mets fan, and that the guy was asking Ron for some answers on why the Cubs fans hate the Mets fan.

 

Ron's response was "Dump Her."

I thought it was extremely moving and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I love Ron to death, and "this old cub" just added to my feelings more. To hear Brooks say he deserved to be in the HOF meant alot as well.
