They did sweep the Rockies (at Wrigley) earlier this season.

That was when the offense decided to begin their descent into the toilet.

I think this experience all cements the fact that when your offense is bad, its the worst feeling in sports. It's bad when your pitching sucks, but at least you get a fighting chance with a good offense. But when you can't do jackshit on offense, it feels like you want to die.

It's especially frustrating this season,  because they looked like the '27 Yankees for a long stretch.  I thought this might end up being the best Cubs offense we've ever seen.  Alas....

I need to take UMFan's perspective. In almost all regards, the season is already over. It's damn near impossible for them to catch the Brewers and it's damn near impossible for the Reds to catch them. Which makes the rest of the season more or less an exercise in making sure people are healthy, playing well, and you're prepared for the playoffs.

Reach a zen status and not worry about individual wins or losses. Unless they do something really stupid and lose like 10 in a row or something.

what ur describing sounds like a zen approach but true ball knowers know that umfan is getting agitated over caleb williams ragebait on twitter
