I'm okay with Hagens.

I'm fine with Desnoyers or Martone.

I'm happy with Frondell.

But I'm loving the increasing buzz about Misa slipping to the Hawks at #3.

misa would be amazing, but what if the isles took hagens and sj took frondell

Auction off the pick for best young forward available

you cannot take Schaefer. If you do, everybody knows you have to trade some young D and their values plummet

Any concerns with his size? Eddie O was on the Score this morning and said he is 5ft 8

I am not concerned about his size. I mean, you can’t have an entire team of sub 6 footers but they should take the best players they can get. If you have 4 smallish forwards there are still 8 other forward spots to fill out with more size, and they have a ton of 1st/2nd round picks in the next couple years to use to acquire more size. But your top 5 picks have to be best player, not best player over a certain height, just best player. They need forwards that can be a threat to be stars. Right now they are just overloaded with bottom/middle 6 guys, they need guys that can be first line players. If he can be, he should be considered.

I really don't think Hagens is on Davidson's radar. If Misa is available at #3, they'll take him. If he goes to San Jose, I expect the pick to be either Frondell or Desnoyers.

You absolutely take Schaefer. He is the consensus best prospect in the draft. You figure out the rest later. That being said, if the Islanders inexplicably pass on him, San Jose won't.

I'm not buying the smoke about the Sharks taking Frondell. So I believe the Hawks will take Frondell.

Same, and I hope so. Frondell is the guy I want.

The Islanders just got picks 16 and 17 from Montréal for Dobson. Looks like they are attempting to position themselves to move up for Hagens.

Again, they give up seemingly a lot to barely move up, from 34 to 29. Shades of the trade with islanders last year.

Davidson has too many picks. He’ll just give them away now to move up a little

I like what Davidson has done tonight. I’m not concerned with what he gave up to move up to 29. He got the player he believes in.

My comments from elsewhere...

Frondell has question marks, but I'm pretty confident there's solid reasons why he had some uneven play. For example, his performance in a tournament is being held against him, but he played in a playoff game, took a red-eye flight to america, played a subpar hockey game without a practice on a sheet of ice 60% the size he was used to

One thing I hate about sports...Florida has won with size & toughness that past couple years, so now everyone is drafting & signing big FA to try to chase success

Hawks took a guy last year with a similar HS football profile. Interesting note for predicting their future picks

Hawks are probably playing it right here. The for sure guy up top, then two upside swings late in the first round

Going into tonight, they were projected at something like 26 picks in the top three rounds in the past four years. I'm okay with consolidating some of that value in guys they believe in

I don’t mind the concept but until they actually find guys who are top 6 players there’s justifiable skepticism. Carolina has been so much better at actual hockey rostering than Chicago. If Davidson is actually any good at his job this team should he much better now. Not 4 years from now. He’s had a horsefeathers ton of first round picks. But it’s feeling a little buffaloish to me
