I liked Killian and this is disappointing but he just hasn't looked good for awhile. So the KB trade worked out for no one at all in the end.

Cosgrove was great in 2023 and terrible last year. Maybe Cubs see something. And he is a lefty that we lack on the 40 man.

Despite the lack of velo the stuff models like Cosgrove quite a bit and he gets a good deal of swing and miss.

So really just the total opposite of Kilian

I think it worked out fine for the Giants.  They got a goodish KB, won the division and 107 games, and didn’t have to give up anyone of value (based on how things have gone to this point).

But yeah for the Cubs and Rockies it was not great. Outside of PCA (a notable exception) the whole tear down of the contender Cubs didn’t work out too well for the us. Though I guess getting a potential all-star caliber player for 1/2 seasons of 4 guys they weren’t going to re-sign isn’t the worst thing in the world. And if we’re including the Darvish trade maybe Caissie.

edit: I’m a moron and forgot about Alcantara

Per Savant in 2023 he was elite in hitters not being able to square him up (EV, barrels), over 51 IP, which would explain the low ERA vs high xFIP.   Looks like he has a good sweeper.  Another option for lefty RP.  Was a reverse splits guy for whatever reason despite no offspeed pitch.

Dare I say he could be the best Cubs lefty with the initials TG since Tom Gorzellany?

If his last name wasn't Cosgrove, you maybe could
