I’m glad you said something because it probably would have taken me months to figure out who this new guy is and where 1908 went. 😂

That is the first time anyone has ever said that to me. 😄

Would usually post this in the baseball chit-chat thread, but figured it’s must see.

White Sox lost in the most White Sox way imaginable

Looks to me like he was going to be out anyway.

These next two and a half weeks are the season's real gauntlet:

@ Dodgers facing Sasaki, Yamamoto, Glasnow

@ Padres including a Dylan Cease start

vs. Dbacks slated to see both Burnes and Gallen

vs. Dodgers, thankfully looking like against the back of their rotation

vs. Phillies, probably also getting the back of their rotation as they play the Mets right before

A bunch of off days should help mitigate things to an extent, but very much a stretch where you're just hoping for 6-8 or 7-7.

why stop there? After a series with the Pirates, it's then @ MIL, vs. SF, @ NYM

Could be, but it would have been very close. The outfielder was out of view when Tauchmann rounded third and then his hamstring popped. The outfielder might not have gathered the baseball yet. It would have been close. Really unfortunate.

The Cubs offense has 76 walks, and 2nd best team in MLB has 56 walks.   They also lead MLB in stolen bases.

Unfortunately Cubs are 24th in ERA.  Pen has a 4.97 ERA (low K/9 and lots of walks, but good HR/9).

I dunno, hard to tell when he started to slow down, it wasn't a good throw.  Feel bad for Tauchman.

There is some positive regression coming for the pitching staff.  They are 26th in strikeout rate yet also:

- 19th in contact rate

- 2nd in chase rate

- 10th in zone rate

Those three numbers don't jive with that strikeout rate ranking.  Like the pitching certainly hasn't been good, but I think they should probably be closer to 15th than 25th.  And that's to say nothing of the schedule aspect.

I posted this in the transaction rumors as well , but Mike Rodriguez claims the Cubs and Kyle Tucker are already discussing an extension .

Take this FWIW . Mike Rodriguez is all over the place with his sources and most of the time is wrong .

Here is the tweet btw :

Mike usually sucks. His sources tend to be Latin America related when he has them, and this doesn't feel like it fits that category. *But* Mike tweeted details of Blue Jays/Vlad stuff around the time it was going down. Maybe that's a blind nut, or the Latin America connection...but it adds a little credence here. Mike also used to work with the Cubs a while ago - he tends to tweet Cubs related things. According to him the Cubs were interested in Correa far more than others would report. So, maybe this is that. Or maybe he's got something.

On top of that, Kyle Tucker's camp was leaking numbers to Lance Brodkowski. Which makes this feel a bit more real - you don't leak numbers unless you want to talk numbers. There's always a reason to leak.

On the flip side, it could be Mike trying to play off recently found legitimacy to garner clicks.
