8.14 K/9, 5.55 BB/9, 4.10 FIP and 5.19 xFIP. That 1.85 ERA was a total mirage.

I'm a little surprised he never got a shot. I'm guessing he asked for his release so he could try and get a MLB spot somewhere else.

The phrasing I saw first was that Carl opted out, I think he and Roberts had June 15 opt out dates.
