I like it, especially with how stubborn Swanson is about not having his name in the lineup spend two weeks getting right rathetlr than letting it drag on

Also weirdly no update on Taillon yet

I hate Dansby being hurt. I like him going to the IL if he's hurt. If his lack of performance is because of an injury, that is much better than the alternative explanation that it was just him sucking.

I think this is very good.

Exactly. It's not great that he's hurt, but I'd rather him go to the IL than suck for another week playing hurt

Dansby was just on the Score a little while ago and said he had a sports hernia repaired this offseason.  When he was asked when he got hurt, the response was, get this, sometime in the middle of the 2023 season.  He was somehow allowed to go through last offseason with this and just do some rehab instead of getting it fixed and it was obviously an issue throughout the entire 2024 season.

is it just me, or are the Cubs generally awful at dealing with injuries?  How many times have they not put someone in the IL, only for them to end up missing just as much time and playing shorthanded in the meantime?  Then you get stories like that...

As a person who’s had 4 hernia repair surgeries, I can say that they can very often have minimal impact on daily life.  And some hernias don’t even require surgery.  Not suggesting Dansby didn’t need surgery or could’ve waited. Just suggesting that it makes sense to me that he and his teams may not have thought hernia surgery was immediately necessary.

Didnt he improve in the later part of last season? So maybe the hernia isnt a valid excuse for his awful defense in the first half and overall awful offense season.

The Chicago Stars will open training camp without star forward Mallory Swanson, who will miss time due to personal reasons, the team announced Monday.

The Stars didn’t provide additional details but said they have been in contact with Swanson and “are fully supportive of her decision.”

“I’d like to thank the club and the fans for their understanding during this time,” Swanson said in a statement. “I appreciate the kindness and encouragement from my teammates and all the Stars staff and hope to be back with the team and playing in front of our fans as soon as I can.”
