I only caught Ferris in the 3rd inning, but he was outstanding. Struck out the side and used both an elevated heater and a buried breaking ball. Pulled from the game after 3 with only 43 pitches.

Ferris looks like a pretty big guy.  Kinda weird in those clips, turns his back and walks away after a couple of those swinging K's, even when the ball is bouncing free and Ballesteros is scrambling to recover it and throw the guys out.  Not sure I recall big-league pitchers doing that.

Noticed that as well.  Makes him look like a bit of a tool.  Hopefully someone "cures" him of that habit.

Pretty easy to DFA Barnhart after the year; call up Amaya to catch with Gomes; and have Aliendo take the open 40 man spot and be in AAA working on everything.

Yeah, you're totally right.. They need to add him to the 40-man, not the 25-man, this offseason. Just add him and keep him working on the game (he'll likely to head to the AFL this offseason too). Catchers tend to develop slower, you don't cut bait on talented ones just because they take longer.
