If anyone wants a QB that is just good enough that you can win games in spite of him, Drew Pyne, QB of my team, has entered the transfer portal.

If anyone wants a QB who is so bad his team had a losing season despite having the best player in the conference in his backfield, my alma mater's starting QB, John Paddock, also entered the portal.

Everyone expects CJ Stroud to go to the NFL

Everyone also expects that the next OSU QB is not on the roster, but is in the portal

Caleb Williams looks like a slightly bulkier Justin Fields. I’m sure that comparison has been made before, potentially a lot but this is the first extended look I’ve seen of him. Dancing out of pressure and turning his hips and hitting guys 20+ yards downfield is a thing of beauty

He was doing some pretty absurd horsefeathers last week against ND. I think one play lasted a whole 12 seconds because of all his dancing and Jordan Addison was able to find an open spot for Williams to hit him.

I suppose the final four is set now barring a USC comeback. I would think the committee would keep OSU and Michigan apart similar to Georgia and Bama last year. So barring Georgia losing it will be OSU-Georgia and Michigan-TCU.

USC about to let OSU back into the playoffs

I hate this but I guess I should get used to it. With the 12 team playoff it’s less likely that one team can ruin the others season. I just wanted Michigan to do it one more time before it changes.

Let's say Georgia somehow loses to LSU tomorrow and nothing else weird happens; does the committee avoid the rematch by seeding Ohio State 3 and Georgia 4?

You could actually make a paper argument for it as UGA's best win of Tennessee is (barely) ranked behind OSU's best win of PSU. The teams' second-best wins (S Carolina for UGA, ND for OSU) are similarly closely positioned.

I guess alternatively the committee could cheat by vaulting TCU up to 1 and claim adding one more quality win versus Michigan's nothingburger win made the difference.

They’ll try to avoid the rematch unless it’s blatant manipulation. Seeding Georgia below OSU would be pretty blatant. If Georgia loses and TCU/Michigan win it will be a rematch. If TCU loses and Georgia/Michigan win it’s 50/50. Do you not move down TCU after losing and put a team that didn’t make their conference title game ahead of them? Tough call, I can see either way.

One good thing about this is that Michigan should avoid Georgia in the semis unless Michigan and Georgia both lose

If TCU gets smoked today, they have to be out and Alabama in right?

Tennessee should absolutely get in over Alabama, but the committee is composed of abject morons, so…

They’d use the Hooker injury as their reasoning.

I was going to say the same thing. I might be misremembering but don't they take injuries into account? I thought I remember that being the case one time but I might be wrong.

Wait. TCU is for sure out provided other expected winners come through right?

No. They are still one of the four teams with one loss or less, so they still have a case. I think they are likely out, but it wouldn't utterly stun me if they weren't.

The last two days have officially broken fivethirtyeight's model  I almost always like their models, but that is a pretty insane result right now.

IF the committee really wants to avoid a rematch they can easily pit UM and TCU together without it being a stretch regardless how the rest of the games go. Michigan and UGA are locked into a top 2 ranking and TCU and OSU will be some order of 3-4.

That’s if they want to avoid the rematch. The same logic applies if they want to put OSU and UM together

Ahh horsefeathers. That’s what I get for working late on a Friday and forgetting a game was happening. I completely missed the USC loss.
