I just turned this on and I’m confused about what’s happening? He has something on his ear, umps checked and didn’t find anything illegal? But his spin rate is through the roof tonight more than any other start this year? Supposed he could just be full of adrenaline.

Naturally Mets fans are latching onto this to deal with their team’s failure

Edit: it’s possible his spin rate is just higher than his season average not “through the roof”. I got that from a Mets forum

Yeah I think it's mostly adrenaline. His spin's up in line with the amount his velo is up

The most I've cared about big league wins & losses since like June is seeing the Cards and Mets got knocked out. Screw both of them.

100%

So far, a pretty satisfying offseason. Now if the Ms can somehow force the use of the Dusty Dice and pull off the upset

Kimbrel - imploded with White Sox; on the bubble for Dodgers LDS roster this year

Robertson - injured before LDS

Effross - Injured before LDS

Givens - 13.50 ERA in WC round loss

Chafin, Tepera and Chris Martin have done well for the most part though, though only Martin (and possibly Kimbrel) is on a postseason roster.

Assuming they don't have an amazing comeback, absolute disaster by the Braves to lose today. Now you've got to try and split the Wheeler/Nola gauntlet and sweep the other two games. Really tall order. Similar story with the Yankees later, you *CANNOT* lose the Cole start today.

these results are so well aligned with my preferred rooting order that I'm starting to get suspicious that I fixed the games without realizing

Would agree, but Schwarber not singlehandedly donging the Cards out of the playoffs and Pujols/Molina somehow ending their careers with base hits are too far out of line with my preferred outcomes.

It's reassuring to get confirmation we aren't in a dream/simulation I suppose. Though again, if the Padres and Guardians take care of business I'm gonna at least still wonder.

Knowing you all these years, I think your brain works too rationally to allow it to dream of the most optimal scenario.

And Kimbrel is not on the Dodgers postseason roster (at least for the NLDS). We got a guy that missed the season with TJ and a scrappy dude that hits with a wet noodle and still won that trade.

2 outs in the 9th Yordan Alvarez up ad the winning run down 2. Servais going to Robbie Ray.

Whoops that didn’t work

I blame TT
