Looking at similarly ranked pitchers to Jackson Ferris, Dylan Lesko got $3.9M, Brock Porter got $3.7M, Brandon Barriera got $3.5M, and Robby Snelling got $3M. Hopefully the Cubs and Ferris can come to an agreement soon.

 

Not to be paranoid, but I wonder why it's taking this long. Maybe he's already signed, but he isn't an instagram or social-media guy?

 

I have a paranoid recall of Alex Lange taking a surprisingly long time, and then finding out that it was because he failed his physical.

Perhaps if Blatter really wants to sign, but needs to be able to tell his friends that he got overslot and got more than $125K, the extra five bucks can do that?

The Cubs nearly signed him as a NDFA after the 2021 draft (or maybe did and he failed a physical).

 

His younger brother was an unsigned 19th round pick of the Cubs in 2021 who ended up at Grand Canyon U and had a monster freshman season.
