Wow! Assumed it was gonna simply be Heyward coming back and someone like Menez getting DFA'd.

Canario with a 1st inning 2-run shot

Followed up with two singles, a walk, and a stolen base. If my math is right he raised his AA OPS about 120 points this game

Thought I'd have to wait until July or September to see Velazquez. I've been a big fan for a while and this is easily the most exciting news of the season so far. Hope Kilian isn't far behind.

Myrtle Beach only scored one run today, so I assume they were playing in the eye of a hurricane, or pitch black, or on some sort of dwarf planet with 10x Earth's gravity

Heck yeah, but does this mean no Suzuki on Andy Pettitte bobblehead night (June 10)?

The cubs remind me of the last year I played mens senior league baseball. We had like 40 guys on the team but we’re never sure which 9 or 10 would show.

After getting on base 4x last night, Owen Caissie has his batting line up above league average:

.242/.307/.398, 102 wRC+

In May it's:

.316/.386/.544, 162 wRC+

And still the 3rd youngest hitter in High A.

Jordan Nwogu is much more quietly coming on. Similar to Caissie he's a smidge over league average for the year, but in the last two weeks:

.333/.405/.533, 158 wRC+, and most exciting of all 16.2% K rate

The Cubs seem to have a surplus of promising outfield prospects. I wonder if they will exchange one or two for some starting pitching.
