Meadows (quadriceps) was traded to the Tigers on Monday in exchange for Isaac Paredes and a 2022 draft pick, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports. (4/4/2022)

Yeah, he was so bad last year. 44 wRC+, plus he’s 33/34 and the defense isn’t special. 2020 he at least got on base but hit for absolutely no power and had a low BA.

Eric Sogard’s wRC+ was ~40% higher than Shogo’s last year. Sogard’s wRC+ was sub 60.

Two extensions from franchises who don’t exactly hand money out…

 

One is an easy call Jose Ramirez, great player, deal for the Guardians at 5/125. It’s a duh move, nothing to see here, but also he was almost traded to the Padres too

 

The other is the Rays going 2/19 for Manuel Margot entering his age 28. Its most interesting because of how he delivers Value as is, particularly off of trading the similar aged bat first Meadows, but the bat’s slowly improved too including a good season at the Trop. Maybe this is peek at what skills and players are being valued, I think multiple people in the FO talked about how defense driven profiles tend to be underrated offensively, for The Future which is secretly now

 

Jose Ramirez is a token move unless they build on it. If not, he's just their Joey Votto

Doesn't throw hard but some interesting MiLB numbers for Ivey in 2018-2019 (drafted 2017), only 26 this year, different look, multiple breaking balls, has options, has both started and relieved...Seems like a fit?
