Just saw the shot. Good lord that's unlucky with the tip and potential turnover before it.

Also, I see Lonzo is on the block. I'd love him on this team (immensely helps the D and moved Coby to 6th man and away from the point. They dont really need Lauri in NO but a 3 team deal could be interesting. I know he had a good game tonight, but Lauri doesn't seem like he's long for Chicago. Thoughts?

I actually think Bledsoe is a better fit than Ball. It's unfort the Jazz might be a legit contender b/c I've always loved Conley and he's prob. the best fit for this roster ( upcoming FA) although he's been in the nba since myspace.

coby white just sucks

Unfortunately this looks true. I wonder if he will play better as the 6th man. I’m ready to end the starting PG experiment as soon as possible.

yeah i think he'll be fine as a scoring guard to have heavily in rotation. i'm not sure the current pg experiment is going to yield anything good.

So Zach finished January joining Curry as the only players ever to average 25/5/5 on 50/45/85 shooting in a calendar month, and started the following month off shooting 50% with just 1 TO and scoring 10 of his 21 in the 4th including the dagger 3 with 20 seconds left as a defensive guru did all he could to snuff out an explosive night from LaVine.

Personally I wouldn't trade him. And never in a million years would I trade him to the Knicks of all teams, who are eyeing him heavily.

So Zach is a keeper. With Beal on the market, can the co-exist? Everyone one else/pick would be on the table right?

More is more when it comes to shooting so I'd absolutely love to see that but I think most of our trade value is going to be with fringe contenders if you're dangling guys like Lauri, Thad, Temple, WCJ, etc.

But won't it most likely come down to just a boatload of picks? Lauri and any other salary marchers and picks + pick swaps.

Lavine

Beal

Williams (ideally keep him)

Max FA slot (I assume they can get that)

I don't know, I'm pretty NBA ignorant thess days. Is that a successful rebuild?

Depends on how you define a successful rebuild. Would we be title contenders if we got Beal and Lonzo lets say? No, but it would be a pretty good team... I think depending on the role players that rounded out the team it could be in the mix in the East, depending on whether that Kyrie/Durant/Harden pairing can figure out how to co-exist together. The concern to me is that Lavine is only under contract through next year and Beal would be only guaranteed through next year too (he has a player option for 1 more year beyond that). So the team would have to come together quickly otherwise it will be difficult to build a team without 1st round picks and limited cap space.

Yea, but they can open up that max cap space before that I think. Notbsure what FA is even available and worth it. But with his contract, ideally you want to get the other pieces before you have to extend him again.

Please don’t trade Zach. There’s too many rumors out there for my liking.

I’d trade him for the right package. He’s not the best or second best player on a championship team and with his age he doesn’t fit whenever the next peak/core is for this team.

I disagree and think he could be the second best player on a championship team. He’s playing so well lately, just surrounded by absolute bums. I mean Garrett Temple and Denzel Valentine are getting big minutes. Coby White is statistically one of the worst players in the league. The second best uninjured player on the team right now might be a 19 year old rookie.

I get that 25 year old Zach Lavine may be too old/expensive by the time we get this figured out. But with the way the lottery is now, I don’t want to take a shot unless I’m guaranteed a top 3 pick in 21.

If Lauri is out for an extended period of time, we MIGHT be bad enough to luck our way into a top pick, while keeping Zach. That would be ideal.

I like the top 5 or 6 guys, tbh. Of course Suggs is the dream with the makeup of this team.

I just don’t see it in Zach, he seems like empty stats that don’t translate to winning and also plays terrible defense. The fact he hasn’t been able to get them to an 8 seed as the guy tells me he’s just a third best or role player on a championship team. Especially in this shitty eastern conference last few years. Talent wins out in the NBA and he hasn’t proven he has it other than getting the volume to put up shots on a bad team. I’d cash out on him before committing big money to him.

He’s obviously talented, just don’t think he’s a guy if you’re trying to win.

It’s not like he’s out there chucking to get to 25ppg. TS of 64% this year. That’s very good. He did this last month:

“However, LaVine was even more spectacular in January, putting up 25+ points with a 75+ true shooting percentage, tying Charles Barkley (March 1988) for the most such games in a calendar month in NBA history. He averaged 28.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game on 53.8% shooting from the floor, 45.6% from deep, and 87.95% from the free-throw line, joining Steph Curry (2x) as the only players in history to put up 25/5/5 on 50/45/85% shooting in a month.”

The guy is becoming a superstar. He’s even starting to limit the turnovers compared to earlier in the year. His on ball defense is very good- well above average. He admittedly is a very poor off ball defender and I’m not sure if he can improve there, as he hasn’t shown it yet. But that can be overcome with the right pieces around him. He’s far from the player you’re making him out to be. He’s been efficient, while still getting his 25+. He also doesn’t seem like a diva that’s going to bitch and demand a trade if things aren’t going his way. He’s the perfect first big building block. Maybe we start doing some load management with him and work our way into a top 5 pick. Everything I’ve read has called it a 5 player draft. PW continues to improve and you have Zach, PW, and ‘21 top pick to build around and attract the next disgruntled superstar.

Replace the PG and C position with league average players and you’re probably a top 4-5 team in the East.

I’m gonna say it again. Zach is becoming a star. Do not trade him.

i can't even imagine how frustrated zach must be playing with these guys

He really sucked down the stretch though. Took over possessions that led to chucking up bad shots and then missed a layup with seconds left that would have given the Bulls the lead. It was not a super easy layup but it’s one he should have made or drawn the foul
