Am I crazy if I see a more polished version of Jimmy Butler when he came into the league? I also don't think Lauri is a good fit with this team. He either needs to hit open 3s or be able to be a small ball 5, and it doesn't look like he can do either.

Williams reminds me a bit of Tobias Harris, I mean that in a good way, more than Jimmy.

man, I really want to throw in the 'but its preseason' objection but you are right, he looks really solid out there. No doubt there will be growing pains but the kid is 19 so he has a lot of development and improvement in him. I can see why AK loved him so much

Lol, if I squint, I can see a little Kawhi there so I might be crazier.

That’s a weird thing to say when Lauri actually played pretty well. Disappeared at times (as always), but had flashes and definitely didn’t “absolutely suck”. WCJ and Coby White absolutely sucked. Coby’s defense, in particular, stood out as being the worst of all the bad defense that was “being played” out there. I’m not too worried or making any judgements until at least a couple months in. Tough not having played in almost a year, having a new HC, and having a drastically shortened training camp.

 

Pat Williams looked pretty good out there at times.
