Or maybe they feel that Trubisky is so gone at this point, Bray would be a better backup option to Trubisky. I can't imagine that either, because people would lose their minds if they brought Bray in instead of Trubisky if Foles had to come out for some reason. It is trade season, so maybe they are shopping for anyone everyone knowing that Trubisky's only real chance is to get a fresh start somewhere else.

 

Bray will likely just be an inactive each Sunday.

The only other thing would be they are spooked with the positive tests popping up (NFL and in govt) and feel they need to carry 3 active for the rest of the season so that a "surprise" positive covid test doesn't leave them scrambling with onlt 2 active QBs.

Not sure why they decided Patterson should take every single kickoff out of the end zone when it seems like 80% of them end up before the 25 yard line. I can understand some situations but the opening kickoff when he catches the ball running away from the goal line seems stupid

Most of the time he's getting close to the 20 or better, though. So if he's breaking one out to the 40+ once in a while, it's probably worthwhile.
