Buyer beware for any team that mortgages their draft future for any QB. History shows there are very few #1 overall QBs taken that turn out to be the best player from their draft, let alone a franchise changer. More often than not, their hype is greater than their careers.

I forget how weird and dumb the first half of the NFL season usually is. How or why does Josh Allen have a 10:1 TD:INT through the air with a 71% completion rate right now for Buffalo? Their offense around him is pretty loaded: Rice, Brown, and Singletary are beasts, Williams/Dawkins/Morse/Spain/Ford are some quality OLmen, Knox and Kroft can catch passes and TDs at TE. So maybe those guys. I believe in big leaps, so sure Allen is here to stay as a competitive QB, but until he goes all the way I'm looking at him as a souped up Jay Cutler who happens to be hot right now. Their D isn't as good as when they finished behind that crazy Bears defense during Mack year 1, but still one of the best

Allen looks pretty freaking great right now, although he got a pretty gift-wrapped PI call on what probably should've been the game-ending 4th-down incompletion at the end of yesterday's game. Being able to do what he did against Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, etc. on that Rams defense is no joke. He's got the Chiefs on Thursday night in a few weeks and then New England and Seattle in consecutive weeks to start November, so it'll be interesting to see how he measures up there, but I think he might be here to stay.

Lamar Jackson is 20-1 against the league, and 0-3 against the Chiefs.

Brady v Manning v2.0?

I've seen this brought up a fair bit, so just for completion's sake, Brady went 11-6 against Manning, and 2-3 in the playoffs. Brady did a horsefeathers ton more winning overall than Manning did, but when they went head-to-head it was a pretty close matchup.

I'm not comparing their records, just that it's going to be the new sports talk narrative
