how was that roughing the passer?

 

It was helmet to helmet, whether or not it was I tentional given Mack had altered Ryan's path is another story.

I remember back in the day the Lions throwing slants all day against the Bears with Herman Moore on Walt Harris as Bears Dbs gave them the slant whenever. Please don't get cute and outhink yourselves

Helmet to helmet. It was basically bad luck, but any helmet contact will be called.

That’s football now. 2 of their drives facilitated by roughing the passer where there didn’t appear to be anything the defender could do about it except decide not to try to sack the QB.

This aspect of the game has always been so frustrating to watch. I don’t see how that call could be changed but it just seems in general catches that aren’t clear tend to be called randomly.
