Last time Lester and Brault faced off the Pirates scored 4 in the first. Then the Cubs got 5 in the first and 17 through 5 innings.

I can easily see one of these happening again.

Checks in on the game...... yep that’s the one

All games or only select games? Because the WS team is wearing polos for their broadcast.

All games.

What do the White Sox have to do with anything?

So I guess I'm confused the the "higher ups in New York". I thought Omar was referring to all games, not just Cubs games. Why are the higher ups in NY dictating what the Cubs announcers wear if it's not league mandate?

clunky wording by me based upon having seen this report in passing

“Marquee Sports Network, run by New Yorkers in Mike McCarthy and Michael Santini, has been vocal about presenting these games as “national network quality” broadcasts, so yes, they’re making Len and JD wear ties, shirts and coats for games.”

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.

suits are awesome and anyone who wants to wear one should wear one whenever they want

but having them forced on people is lame

There is nothing awesome about wearing a suit, ever. And I agree that no one should be forced to wear them.

I would happily go the rest of my life never wearing another suit

Against a good team Lester would’ve given up 5-6 runs before getting yanked.

Either way, he started the game looking like he’d have trouble going 4 innings and he’s already past 5 innings with just the 1 allowed. Great recovery by him

What was that about Brault only going 3 today?

That...Brault is probably only pitching 2-3 innings, and then the Pirates will bring in a RHP. So the stiffs against RHs will get ABs against RHs??

Souza's gotta get Scwarbs to third. Not a good AB.

Won't matter after this round happer.

After this Hoerner Homer?

Now that I've watched a handful of games with the DH, I don't miss the pitcher hitting at all

Completely agreed. I have also enjoyed the extra innings rule, but I don’t actually want it implemented long term. Hate the 3 batter minimum overall but have enjoyed when an opposing pitcher is forced to face a Cubs batter with favorable splits

That graphic regarding the DH AVG definitely is a small sample size. But the biggest part not mentioned by Len & JD is the production regarding HRs and RBI. Not gonna get anything close to that with a pitcher in the lineup.
