so they luck into getting the 8 spot, and now the 1 seed they get to face only had a +16 goal differential on the season. the knights are still good and the hawks are still bad, so it shouldn't matter, but the door is open to aggravate a lot of people.

theres still a lot of residual hatred for the hawks from other fanbases. i've already seen a lot of people who are annoyed about them lucking into the playoffs. if they can take advantage of a weak conference and fluke their way to a deep playoff run, it would annoy so many people.

Frustrating performance tonight. Obviously Vegas is just a better team, even when accounting for hockey playoff randomness. Hopefully the Hawks can at least take 1 of the next two to make the series interesting

I didn’t really think they played that bad. Couldn’t do a lot offensively though and it’s gonna be tough (or probably impossible) to win that way. Hard to be too upset when they shouldn’t even be here but day dreaming of a Cinderella run is too much fun

I think the answer is still yes because it gave the younger players a taste of playoff success and also let them know what it feels like to get eliminated. That it worth more than a 1 in 12 shot at a the #1 pick.
