For all its faults, SV features a couple scenes that have made me laugh harder than any other tv show or movie. And that is one of them.

Yep. This for me is another one of said scenes.

I haven't had a chance to watch his game yet, but Brailyn did it again today. 6 no-hit, no-run innings, 1 walk, 8 Ks.

In his last 2 starts: 12 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 22 K.

Turning point? One would think, but it's still a lil early.

God horsefeathering damn it

Guys gets hit in the hand twice bunting over a two day span, the second time hitting the IL. He then returns and three days later gets another in the hand. I mean wtf?

Yeah, if this is a breakout/turning point for Marquez along with the addition of Ryan Jensen, the TOR prospects for the Cubs took a step up this year. It's quite possible if not likely that they'll both start next season in Myrtle Beach. Of course, if this a true putting-it-all-together for Marquez, it's possible he gets promoted to High-A for his next start, and, if this domination continues, he starts next year in AA, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.

If not, that Pelicans rotation will be stocked with Marquez, Jensen, Thompson, Little and Sanders (and Carrera) to go along with Davis (assuming still has two hands, of course...), Morel and possibly Roederer in the line-up. That could be fun.

Brailyn Marquez in July: 5 starts, 27.1 IP, 17 H, 1 HR, 8 BB, 41 K, .175, BAA, 0.91 WHIP, 1.65 ERA.

Tyson Miller in July: 5 starts, 15.2 IP, 24 H, 6 HR, 12 BB, 16 K, .348 BAA, 2.30 WHIP, 11.48 ERA.

Coincidence...?

Don't forget Nelson Velazquez in that MB outfield next year.

I'm low key hoping Luis Vazquez's glove gets him the SS job on that potentially loaded 2020 Pelicans roster. He's as toolsy as any hitter in the system and prooooobably/arguably the best defensive player right now

He's got a .609 OPS while repeating Eugene. He's more likely to repeat in extended spring training next year.

Let’s keep Brailyn nice and safe and healthy.

In non-prospect news, I wonder how long before Danny Hultzen’s called up. His line so far is respectable, though not awe-inspiring, and he could be an answer to the desperation for a lefty reliever.

Is there lefty reliever desperation? They just acquired Holland, already have Ryan and traded for Wieck even though he's in AAA.

Yeah, I think they’re gonna ride Ryan/Holland for a while. Hultzen probably isn’t up until September unless there’s an injury or bad performance. I’d try and get him up before then but I don’t think they will.

Technically speaking, Hultzen is still a prospect. He's never pitched in the big leagues.
