In a trade that has been widely expected since last night, the Athletics have officially acquired right-hander Jeurys Familia from the Mets. In exchange, the Athletics have sent a pair of minor leaguers back to New York: third baseman William Toffey and right-hander Bobby Wahl. The Mets will also receive $1MM in international bonus money, while the Athletics will take on all of Familia’s ~$3MM remaining salary.

Looks like the $1M in international bonus money was the best part of the Mets return. Don’t see these prospects on any lists.

I'm familiar with Toffey. Played at Vanderbilt in college. Drafted last year in the 2017 draft. I was a little bit intrigued with his profile. It seems like the Cubs were solely focused on pitching in that draft. His stats aren't that impressive, and Keith Law is down on him but he might develop into an okay 3B with good patience but little power.

So is this similar to a Maples and Vosler package? A little less considering the int'l money? Trying to see if this is about what we could expect to give up for Britton. Seemed like the Mets didn't get a great return but the O's aren't exactly well run either.

That's probably fair. The Royals also didn't get a ton for Kelvim Herrera. I think if we get Britton it's not going to be very painful, particularly given his salary.
