Man I really did think this season would be easy.

last season taught me not to expect it to be easy, but i didn't think it would be like this. it could/should change in an instant, but i'm past the point of expecting it to. it's just not worth it to be invested in the team right now. every day should be the day the brewers fall off and the cubs take off, and it just won't happen. it's still early, but its not THAT early.

There’s like 115 games left and they’re 3-4 games back. It’s plenty early.

Plus, I think it might only be two in the loss column. Which always looks better.

I know the elites of the board are staying strong and confident, but I'm pretty sure Theo is losing his horsefeathers at this point.

I’d venture to guess the guy running all this is plenty confident. I can’t imagine he’s all that happy about the execution and Javy’s bunt tonight though.

Confident, but not calm. No way stuff hasn't been broken.

Theo is older and wiser so no horsefeathers is broken. This is how he probably feels though:

well yeah, it's plenty early to come back and win the division (and they're still the favorites), but it's not some tiny chunk of the season either. we're almost 2 months in, they need to start winning, especially because the wild card race is looking like it's going to be really crowded.

Last season, and this season so far, is like escaping Shawshank. We’ll come out clean on the other side, but we’re having to wade through a river of horsefeathers to get there.

The 2017 Indians had a similar RD/mediocre record issue at this point last year and were 24-22. They finished 102-60. Not saying the Cubs will necessarily win 100+ games but if you believe in the cubs talent, keep believing.
