The three preseason favorites in the NL are not doing very well. Nats are done, Dodgers teetering and the Cubs can’t hit.

Hernandez had a nice TOOTBLAN on the same play. He was on first and took a big turn around second after the batter was safe at first. Cards threw behind him and got the third out.

Cubs have had two 22-12 streaks this year (excluding overlaps), from early May to mid June and late June to early August. Had four overlapping stretches of 13 of 17 from late June to mid July and one from late May to mid June.
