I'm not sure if they'll use it for the starters, but I can see the Cubs rotating relievers through the 10 day DL so they can keep all the guys who are out of options.

Yeah I could see it. Maybe start the year with Butler on the DL, Grimm in MLB and Maples in AAA. I think it would take multiple injuries or pretty drastic poor results/stuff from Grimm and Butler for Maples to make the opening day roster over them. Even if he is the best choice I doubt Maples makes the opening day roster, he'll start in AAA since he's the only one with options and it will let them keep at least one extra body around in Grimm/Butler to start the year.

hmm. a lot of times i can get behind the sentiment of minor pet peeves but the thought of them putting a helmet on to take those goofy pics would only make them look even more goofy.

 

i guess i could understand if they took them "action-style" on the field but just wearing a helmet for no reason in front of a photo backstop would look really dorky imo.
