17 of Fox’s 29 losses as a Bears coach have been by 1 score or less. That seems high.

Is it that bad teams usually make enough mistakes to consistently lose winnable games or do John Fox teams make too many critical errors to win very many close games?

Either way, he sucks

I’m all for a complete flip on the coaching staff. Get a young offensive play caller HC and a D guy who wants to play the 3-4 so we font have to complete revamp the D

I'm not worried about the front. I feel pretty certain Floyd, Hicks, McPhee, and Goldman can play in a 4-3 front. 50% of the time you're dropping a LB anyways and in a 42 front which is basically our nickel front with the difference if the ends are in a 2 PT or 3 PT stance.

I mean i cant see a positive way to spin that

Yes, no positive way to spin 29 losses in a little over 2.5 years.

ETA

8 of 12 wins also by one score or less. Generously call all 25 of those games toss ups and normalize to .500

16.5 - 23.5 record? Yay?

i had completely forgotten that kevin matthews existed, but anyway, i'm taking it with an optimistic but huge grain of salt

who is Kevin Matthews and why should anyone remember he existed?

just a local radio guy who was popular 20-30 years ago. sort of a steve dahl type.

i wouldn't read much into his tweet. doubt it's true. but i'm still gonna hope.

I don’t hate it but honestly what’s the point unless you are evaluating Fangio’s ability to be a head coach. I know there’s been some trashing on him after this one but he’s the only coach with any sort of remote potential to be an NFL ahead coach on the staff

lock in that firing asap...i don't want to risk them riding this schedule to 7 wins or something and that being sold as progress.

No chance Fox gets fired 10 weeks into the season unless they want to give Fangio a chance

Huh? Unless you are referring to Virginia and the boys general track of complacency and “dutifulness” towards supposed professionalism, wth is your reason for that? Pace gets that call

They were at home with the bye week against a decimated Packers team on a short week. I'm not super worried about winning too many games.

Decimated? Have you seen the Bears injuries?

Yes. Another reason I'm not worried.

This is starting to look a lot like the worst case scenario where we don't see anything out of mitch but we have to stay locked into him for a number of years anyway, and by extension a completely underwhelming Pace gets to keep his job despite zero results.

"I think maybe on 50 times, like some people get to look at it, I think maybe you could see that," he said. "But on our look during the game, that wasn't really even discussed."

That explanation by Fox is such horseshit. Literally the first time i saw a replay i said “geez i hope they don’t call that a touchback”.

Yeah, especially since it just happened in another game only a couple weeks ago.

kyle, let me introduce you to the nfl.

I know the Bears will never do it but Fox needs to be fired today. horsefeathering inexcusable loss yesterday. My fear is that they won't even fire him at the end of the season.
