Cool with the move. Nothing wrong with Mallee but it will be nice to see if Davis can help young guys who still have room to improve like Russell and Schwarber.

i see that he had a bunch of big years..... in his mid to late thirties.... in the 1990s

Got this from Cubs Insider, Hinske obviously has to know what he's doing but seems like we definitely upgraded from a teaching/technical standpoint by having Haines replace him. I also wonder if by having him on the big league coaching staff we can deduce Schwarber may being staying (probably reading way toooooo much in to it but it's something).

 

Roving hitting instructor Andy Haines, who notably worked with Kyle Schwarber when the slugger was demoted, has been promoted to assistant hitting instructor to fill Hinske’s former role. While he’s maybe not as much of a rah-rah guy, Haines knows his stuff and should be an excellent influence on the big league team.
