Not happy with the Carter pick, but very happy getting Hutchison at 22. I think they'll both develop into solid players, but they'll never be All-Stars or even the best players on this Bulls team.

EDIT: Shoutout to Cubswin11, who pointed out Chandler Hutchison a couple months as a player he liked. I watched some video and liked him after watching some games/highlight videos/interviews. Good pick.

The fact they're doing a press conference NOW, instead of trying to add a 2nd rounder, when plenty of solid players are still out there, pisses me off to no end.

Happy to see Tony Carr get drafted. No idea how much playing time he'll get, but it's cool to see a Penn State guy get his name called

I don't agree with the comp, but it sucks that there might be some truth to this...

Carlos Boozer was a very good player, especially at his peak with Utah. I'd be more than happy if that were his outcome. That said, it's kind of a weird comp IMO from what I can gather.

The comment about the 2010-11 Bulls is pretty weird considering that team had a superstar DRose and probably could've gotten past any non-Heatles team in the East, including the later LeBron Cavs teams. That team legit could've won a title in a non-superteam NBA.

It's a weird comp because I'm pretty sure WCJ is not a paper bag on defense. He's also taller and has a longer wingspan than Boozer. I can see the offensive game comps though.

Not that either is a great comp, but if I'm comparing WCJ to a former Duke/Bulls guy, I'd say he's closer to Brand, than Boozer.

That said, neither are great comps. But, Carter can become an excellent player in the NBA.

I think the comp is bad. But being comped to a 2 time all star isn’t the worst thing ever. And the comp comes from the offense, which Boozer was pretty good at for most of his career. WCJ’s defense is going to be very solid IMO.

They were laughable. Almost every single one of them.

I liked all the ones where he stressed that his comp was specifically a young version of a player. MPJ is a YOUNG Durant. Lonnie Walker is a YOUNG DWade. I'm not sure what point he was trying to stress?

I wanted to bring him back. I’m not sold on him but I think he is better than he played so close to his ACL surgery. $20m a year is too much for me though

If the Bulls match, the ceiling for this rebuild will be exactly where they were when they decided to rebuild.

I think I want him back at 4/80. Reasons as follows.....

1) He's got upside, but is far away from it. So, he's technically helping the tank for another year or two.

2) Cap goes up 9 mill per each of the next 2 years. You'll still have the ability to add 2 max guys, even with this, with a bit of maneuvering.

3) You don't do this, these guys will spend cap space on vets that scrap their way to 37 wins next year OR sign Jabari to a panic offer sheet. Keeping LaVine protects them from themselves.

With this contract, LaVine will NOT be in the top 40 highest paid players, which seems fair. He's getting paid about the same as George Hill which sounds like a steal. But he's also getting about the same as Jimmy Butler, which makes Andy's statement as accurate as they come.
