Can anyone imagine this bullpen without Wade Davis? I know this FO hasn't been big on paying top money for a closer, but they need to spend whatever it takes to keep him here.

 

No, we don't dude. I don't want to bring W. Davis back just like I didn't want to bring Chapman back after I saw his performance in the playoffs last year. Honestly, W. Davis will probably get a 4-yr deal for $60-70 million and I want no part of that. No thanks lol. I'm glad we got something useful for Soler. Davis has looked really shaky at times and his velocity isn't really elite anymore.

 

If you're going to sign/trade for an elite closer you have to target the ones trending up. I don't think W. Davis is trending up. Like I wished we had gone after K. Jansen.

I switched the broadcast off with 2 strikes on javy bc I knew if I watched he'd strike out. Cleaned for 5 min and came back and thought we were gonna blow it in the 9th... turned off again came back and just followed on game day until the last batter which I watched. I'm such a weirdo.

Shout out to Javy, too. We were dead in the water and he got a huge hit with 2 strikes. KB's was the difference. But still 0 outs there. Decent chance we're scoring anyway. Don't want to take anything away from his clutchiness. But that was something a younger Javy isn't doing.
