I don't think this is a data driven question.

 

There are examples of QBs who sat, learned and succeeded later on, but you can't test for the difference of sitting/starting the same guy and every single situation is different.

Mike Glennon hasn’t even been that bad but maybe it’s time to read the writing on the wall and let Mitch Trubisky take a year’s worth of licks so you’re in a better spot next season. Band-Aids don’t fix bullet holes, as one 21st century poet once said. You’d rather go 4-12 with Trubisky than 6-10 with Glennon, but that’s not the Bears plan yet for some reason. You have to at least respect the Jets, who started tanking in August.

 

Meanwhile, the Steelers haven’t started 3-0 since 2010. I didn’t know that. It’s strange that they’ve been consistently good for that long, while playing in a bad division, and they've never strung together three straight out of the gate. Everything about this game says it should be a blowout, but everything about Baby Driver said it should be a great movie and we all know how that turned out.

I'd also rather go 6-10 with Trubisky than 4-12 with Glennon, which might be just as likely.
