Would really like to get this W before 11 more road games.

Hey we've won 3 of our last 5 road games, we're back on track baby!

The Nats series will be tough, but I think we at least split in Miami if not win 3 of 4, and should take 3 of 4 from the Reds. Looking at 6-5 or 7-4 for the trip IMO

I know, questioning lineups is so gauche, but Addison 4 & Willson 7? Weird.

Russell is hitting .321/.345/.714 the last 2 weeks, so for that spot where he wants a RH he's playing the hot hand. The others are in front of Willson because lefties are hitting .327/.411/.625 against Diaz.

Maddon is making Dusty Dice look like amateur hour

except what made dusty's lineups nonsense was that he'd stick guys like rey ordonez, ramon martinez, tom goodwin, macias, and alex gonzalez at the top on a daily basis

it was basically a staple to have a very low OBP CF or MI in at least one of the top two spots

I really like this lineup

LaStella has no business playing 3B at the major league level

Didn't say I love the defensive alignment. TLS throwing across the diamond inspires about as much confidence as Lackey does on the mound. But I'm expecting to score a lot of runs.

he played there 33 times last year for the world series champions

Okay? Stupid/sub-optimal decisions turning out well doesn't make the decision any less stupid or sub-optimal.

You can't play 162 games with an optimal lineup.

Calling all moves that are sub-obtimal "stupid" displays an incredible lack of awareness of how a manager has to ride the wave of health, energy and roster limitations over 6 months.

I understand that, LaStella at 3B just irrationally angers me because he's so bad there. I get with our current health it's necessary he be in the lineup somewhere. But for defensive purposes I'd rather have Bryant at 3B today, Happ in RF and Tommy at 2B with the guys playing today.
