I'm very interesting in Assad. I think he's going to put himself on national guys radar this season. I'd say the same for Amaya and Ademan, but they're already on the radar.

Really, really excited to watch the development of Ademan, but especially Amaya.

Yeah I haven't thought of a top 10 in a while but i think these two would be on it for me. Alberto's not making Eugene and having a horrible showing so far in AZ takes some shine off him. Clifton walking a lot of guys and not striking many out, still dig him but tempering expectations. Some big toolsy position players have come through lately and done well. and these two have lit it up with peripherals, defensive and production in AZ and at DSL.

So I'd put Burks + these guys into the top 10 but I'd have to figure out who else leaves. Either way there's a lot of talent at Eugene. Martarano should fun to watch and Assad. Was thinking Guttierez would make it but it'll be fun to watch how he and Sierra do trying to make the team.

Amaya and Ademan though. Somewhere in the top 8ish at least I'd think

I'm with on Amaya. He's in my top 10. The longer Burks hits like he has, the better his argument for being in the top 10. I'm still wait-and-see on Ademan. He's not far off from my top 10, though. Definitely top 15. His play at Eugene will have a lot to say about where he winds up for me.

Assuming Happ stays up, he'll fall off the list, but he's got 41 more at bats to go. I agree with your concern about Clifton, but perhaps I'm a bit more patient with him because he just turned 22 a month ago and is more than holding his own in AA. I want to see if/how he progresses in the 2nd half. Hatch has moved up my board big time given his 5 consecutive, high quality starts. Here's a stab at my current top 10:

1. Jimenez

2. Happ

3. Cease

4. Candelario

5. Clifton

6. Hatch

7. Alzolay

8. Caratini

9. Amaya

10. De La Cruz

It's very fluid, though. I'd love to hear yours!

Didn't ask, but here's mine lol.....Happ is leaving soon, so he's not on mine. Neither is Oscar, until we hear what his injury is.

3. Caratini

4. Alzolay

5. Hatch

6. Candelario

7. Amaya

8. Zagunis

Early season DSL, still trying to figure out who is worth paying attention to....Yovanny Cruz went 4 5 1 1 1 3 today. He's now 12 12 3 2 1 13 on the year as a 17 year old.....

Kleiber Carreno went 3 1 0 0 5 today, as an 18 year old. He's now 7.2 2 1 1 5 12 on the year, his first in a Cubs uniform.

Carlos Pacheco, 18 out of Mexico is putting up an extremely interesting slash line..... .294/.467/.529 in 11 games. He's got 34 PA and has a triple and 2 homers, to go with 9 walks and 11 K's.

This looks like fun. I'm not ranking Happ or Candelario, but will include the first rounders:

Jimenez

Mekkes

I actually threw up a little bit that 5 pitchers are in there, but this system also is not very good right now.

Mekkes 2nd- really?

I'm higher on the system than you. The pitching is better than it has been in forever and it still has an elite position prospect even after graduating so many top level position players and trading one for a WS championship.

My Top Dozen:

1. Jimenez

2. Cease

3. Little

4. Lange

5. Hatch

6. Caratini

7. Clifton

8. Cruz

9. Amaya

10. Alzoy

11. Mekkes

12. Zagunis

Did you decide not to include Little and Lang, or are they not in your total top 10?

I noticed I left off Candelario, but that's OK- I'm thinking he's a 4A player.

You're right about this being a fluid situation... By the end of the year the only thing I'm certain about is Jimenez will still be #1.

Not sure what my top 10 is. I'll try to do one here in a bit. But I just want to say that Burks is definitely on mine. He's been great all year, and if anything is getting better as the year goes on. His OBP is up to .413 now.

And I think he's been quietly trending up for awhile. He's done a good job of getting better in certain areas as he's moved up the ladder -- cutting down strikeouts, adding walks, then adding pop. Especially if he can handle some center, I think he's looking like a solid prospect.

Mine looks a lot like this, although Candelario is on there begrudgingly. I see him only as a trading piece, for whatever value he has. I don't have much faith in him to ever be very productive in the majors. I've never been too high on him. But he's produced at the higher levels in the minors and is ready for a shot with some team, so he's above most of these guys by default.

I could flip flop Candelario and Burks and be fine with it. Its hard to put together a top 10 for us currently. Its Eloy, Cease, then personal preference basically.....3-10 is pretty close for me, as of now. But, I suspect the rest of the season will help solidify things.

Steele's last 7 starts.....39.2 IP, 35 H, 12 R, 7 ER, 12 BB, 37 K's.....

Solid velo at 90-94, decent shot at 2 above average pitches.....Needs to develop command, but even if he doesn't, he's potentially an excellent pen arm, down the line. If he DOES develop command decently, he's potentially a middle of the rotation guy. He's improved a ton since last year.

If he continues what he's currently doing, he'll definitely move into my top 10.

Yeah, it's interesting this year. There's some guys who have proven themselves at AAA but then cooled off, haven't quite dominated AAA but are showing they can, some that have dominated AAA all year but aren't great defensively, several that are emerging in High-A but haven't played in AA yet (and that's a key proving ground for me), and others that have shown well early on at every level that I want to see more from. These lists could look very different in a month and a half.

Burks is up to an .875 OPS, .314/.412/.464

Maples struck out the side and has a 6/1 K/BB in 3 AA IP

Thems my boys! Just keep it up gentlemen...
