Lester and the dongs did it last night.

Last fall Hendricks didn't last through the 4th but the Cubs won his start against the Giants, while Moore went a full 8 giving up only 1 ER and the Giants glorious bullpen failed to close it out.

Which gave rise to whatever Schwarber was stroking here.

I feel like these memories are relevant.

I believe this will be the 3rd time in the last 6 games that Schwarber is not in the lineup...all against lefties. Is he becoming a platoon guy or is Maddon just temporarily keeping him from facing lefties until he gets going?

baez-almora 1-2 is straight up dusty baker [expletive]

if it was an everyday thing, sure.

i'm not quite sure why people freak out over a lineup like this from time to time.

Their plate discipline/approach is...questionable, even facing off handed pitchers. Personally I'd go Happ/Bryant/Rizzo/Baez/Heyward/Russell/Almora/Montero if you're not going to play Contreras, Zobrist, or Schwarber.

I don't think we have enough from Happ to decide that yet. But what we do have is Almora holding a 1.0 BBK at a sparkling 13.9%. Javy last year is what they're hoping is coming along this season. For some reason he went like 2 for his first 20 (or something) but now he is coming back around and has a 300 wOBA vs them. Last year he posted a 360 wOBA and even a K rate below 20 at 18%. Traditionally he has put up big numbers against LHP.

Just watching Javy and Al vs LHP - you can tell they are much more comfortable at the plate than they are vs RHP. Their pitch recognition is far better , and they make much stronger contact.

Now Miggy over Willy... makes no sense. Really at all.

He does have 100 PA vs them with a 500 OPS and 40 Ks. It could very well be the former you suggested.
