eloy is going to mash, happ is going to keep up being babe ruth at 2B in iowa, and cease is going to toy with hitters with his 98 mph heater and nasty cruve and we're suddenly going to have a top 5 farm again at the all star break.

and it's a real hoot we're not even slightly perturbed we frivolously gave away a top-5 prospect

but i don't think we'll be top-5 farm anytime soon; there's not a ton of depth there which actually should be how we (big-market club) prefer it: quality over quantity

Eloy, Happ and Cease all could/should be within the top 15-20 prospects in MLB by the ASB. Eloy is already top 10. I think we actually are quite deep, those 3 guys are the quality but the quantity isn't lacking. I'm not a huge prospect follower but off the top of my head all of Jemier (obviously), Zagunis, Caritini, Hatch, Clifton, Williams, Pierce Johnson, Underwood, Zastryzny, and Mills all look like major league contributors in the very near future in some capacity (I'm sure I'm forgetting guys, especially pitchers).

But then there's also Paredes, who could become a huge riser and also a lot of intriguing lower level/young pitchers that could take leaps (can't get overly specific here because I don't know enough about them but have seen it mentioned here), along with draft picks this year.

I am contractually obligated to point out that back in full season ball and outside Arizona/ST, Gleyber Torres looks incredibly ordinary again.

Candelario with a homer.

I think it was Raisin who pointed out Candelario's poor cold weather April's in the past.

April 2016 in AA: .203/.347/.342

April 2015 in A+: .250/.299/.333

April 2014 in A+: .213/.351/.375

April 2013 in A-: .229/.356/.313

Spot on, CR!

So far this April: .326/.408/.791. Corner turned? Still half a month to go to get the full answer, but probably, yeah. Outside of Giants 1st rounder Christian Arroyo who has played a couple of games at 3B this season, from what I can tell Candelario is the youngest 3B in the PCL right now and no one is off to a better start.
