Almora walking always makes me optimistic, lack of patience has been the big hole in his game.

If Heyward continues to hit over the next month and looks fixed, we should probably move him in front of Russell in the batting order, at least against right-handed pitchers.

hahahaha, that was all kinds of ugly

Yeah, kinda but it was by no means an easy play. Where's Travis Wood when you need him.

?

schwarber almost made a great caatch against the wall. the ball came eout of his glove, he knocked it with his right hand, caught it with his glove, but it might have hit the wall

Yeah even if he can get to 5-7% BB guy that would be huge. I don't think he's necessarily "impatient" at the plate, he's just so awesome at making contact, even on shitty pitches, that he swings a bit too much. Hopefully facing more quality pitching will make him into a more patient hitter as he certainly seems to have the eye of a disciplined hitter.

can they assume a home run?

if he circled the bases

yeah but the play is dead once they call him out right? They can't allow anything that happens after that to count when the Cubs were treating it like the play is over.

I think the umps get some discretion on a play like that no matter what

Did they call him out? They must have.

On a side note, that was a tough play for Schwarbs, he makes the play if he doesn't crash into the wall. His defense has been solid thus far, no complaints here.
