i just watched some of the post game...arod knows way more about the cubs than i would've ever anticipated

I thought ARod was pretty good.

Rose looked like a ventriloquist's puppet.

Thomas was man-crushing on Javy, but was ok.

Note to all: When trying to figure out the correct term for a ventriloquist's puppet, don't google lap puppet. Just don't.

I keep hearing about the broadcast being so bad. Was it better or worse than TBS last year? Because that is tough to top

Very weird camera angles for a lot of the game. Like it was oddly elevated behind the pitcher.

I did and I thank you for it.

Aww, Buster.

I'm trying to follow the logic here. Buster is upset because he thought he hit his farther. And he is also upset that Baez thought he hit his farther, even though Baez's actually went out?

Buster did go to FSU so I can't imagine logic is a strong point for him. Apparently this was his garbled point:

Maybe Posey should try policing his own players (i.e. Bumgarner, whose temper tantrum at Puig got him pulled in an important game the Giants bullpen ended up blowing).

Trying to think of that Giants player that should've scored on the Zobrist misplay but didn't hustle...he looked foolish.

I remember people generally liking his TV work last year (I think) when he was on.

The main camera was weirdly angled an awful, but whoever was running the camera was like a two-year old trying to get attention. Every single pitch seemed like split screen here, let's decide to zoom in on the catchers hand to show what he's calling, oohhh behind home plate camera!, and then the weird zoomed in on the batter camera where you couldn't even see the pitcher. They also threw in a left field line camera on a few pitches. Not to mention they only showed their "K-zone" a few random times and it looked like it was made in MS Paint.

God, I want Javy to pimp a dong off Madbum soooooooo bad. Him transforming into the villain we imagined him being is lovely.

I think he should. We might as well make the defense completely airtight in those moments.

Yeah, everyone I was with was yelling at the screen when we realized Zobrist was still out there. Totally agreed with the moves Maddon was making in regards to the pitching, but then he leaves Churchy McBibleface out there instead of basically anyone except Soler? Odd.

And speaking of Zobrist, was he using different walk-up music all night?

Benny and the Jets was playing for his last AB. I know I heard his wife's song earlier in the night

i cannot stand how coomer says balls are CRUNCHED

at first i thought he was just misspeaking but he says it all the horsefeathering time

I'm at the game. The crowd is great. Best I've seen all year easily

FS1 is muting the crowd then. It sounds like horsefeathers on tv

This comes up a lot every year in the hockey playoffs. The crowd noise you hear on TV is entirely a result of production decisions and mic placement. You can never really tell what a crowd is like watching on TV.

yeah it is kind of hilarious that it was even an argument and that people don't realize it's all about the broadcast and their sound levels/mics. the crowd was nuts, particularly when there were actual things to cheer for.

What a well played game last night.

Beat them at their own boring ass game. Only in dong fashion instead of even year [expletive] lucky hits.

i will say, there were way more really old people interspersed throughout the crowd. makes sense and not a surprise, but it was almost dangerous. saw two guys who were at least 80 who were getting medical attention after they fell down the stairs and hurt themselves on the way out at the end. there was one in my row too with his daughter. he was pretty awesome tho.

random meatball anecdote...on the train last night, heard a middle aged dude complaining about why they'd start a 2B in lf (granted, Zobrist had a misplay) and that soler would've been much better there. some college kid replied that they probably wanted baez's glove at 2B, and then the guy was like "but he didn't even play well there." like what the horsefeathers game were you watching?

per 538, Cubs up to 81% to make NLCS, 49% to make WS, and 31% to win WS

I love how the Cubs only have a 2% less chance of making the LCS than the Indians, who are up 2-0 instead of 1-0

yeah that's great. makes a lot of sense tho, considering they're facing the red sox, they're the worse team pretty clearly, and we're facing the shitty giants.

also, zobrist came out to some sort of version of benny and the jets last night in his last AB...not sure what the hell version it was and maybe it was still his wife singing in the clip
