I don't know why people are treating this like such a novelty. I mean I know it doesn't happen a ton but a "tie" is basically a default designation they have to give a called game that's official and the stats count but remains tied and cannot or there's no reason to resume it. If the game meant something it would have been suspended and resumed to completion.

 

And thus concludes today's unnecessary rant.

UMFan is just bummed because a tie means there can't be some depressing fact about a random Cubs' loss that nobody remembers but him that comes from this game.

I know, I just don't think its like some cool factoid or anything. It's just a way to call it an official game so the stats count but the records don't change.

trust me even my photographic memory of despair doesn't care enough to remember any details of losses the last couple of weeks.

Irrelevant, obscure factoids are the coolest kinds of factoids. It's the reason Jayson Stark exists, for example.
