Complete buffoonery. Like maybe, maybe it would make an ounce of sense if he had Harvey or DeGrom available for the WC game. But if he uses Syndergaard Sunday it means he pitched Colon Saturday (going for wins/HF) so it's like Lugo or Gessllemen for the WC game. I'd like to see his calculus on how having one of those 2 guys pitching at home in the WC game vs Bumgarner or Martinez is more advantageous than having Thor on the road in the WC game. INSANE.

Also, that last game could very well mean nothing for them. Depending on who they are tied with or a game up on, a loss or win by that other team could also clinch it for them or the other team.

 

So, now, you are pitching him in a game that has about a 50% chance of not mattering. And he must win that game, where another starter wouldn't. It could be a 13-4 game. The Wild Card Game, however, is win-or-go-home. And it is against a tough opponent, pitching a good starter.

In this case, they're planning on pitching Colon on short rest Friday to set him for the Wild Card Game. Not only is it really stupid, it would also set Syndergaard to start twice in the NLDS if the Mets win. So hopefully the Mets clinch HFA before Sunday.

it's funny... a month or two ago i was saying the only two teams i wanted to avoid were stl and nym. now i'm rooting for them both.

Collins is probably just waiting to see who they'll be facing, seeing as how the Cardinals have a better road record. It's called sabermetrics, it's really popular right now.

Grichuk misplayed a liner into a double to start the ninth which led to the tying run scoring.

 

These guys really were hoping a storybook ending was in store, with Grichuk atoning for his mistake. He struck out instead.

Yes. For one, they blew the call. Secondly, they were gone in a flash. This is ridiculous.

 

Was Price too slow or Umps bolted that fast??
