I lost in 2008, the NLDS, NLCS and WS drawings last year. I'm due but I am not holding my breath.

I thought you were a season ticket holder?

hah i wish. I was on the waiting list and was called in 2013 but declined to buy. Oh well.

I also got a call in 2013 but was not ready at the time. (Coming out of college)

Now I am ready but in back of the line.

We have a half-season ticket package for the Nats, so I was able to secure postseason tickets. I plan to be at games 3 and 4 here in mid-Oct. (the 18th and 19th) when the Cubs complete their sweep of the Nationals in the NLCS.

I'm not sure what the views are like from Murphy's, but this might also be an opportunity if you're OK with giving Beth Murphy money.

$600 for all you can eat & drink for a World Series game? Plus a place to sit down? That may actually be worth it. Although I'm sure there is plenty of fine print to go around. And if they don't make it do you get your $50 back?

HOW EARLY CAN WE ARRIVE/HOW LONG CAN WE STAY?

Our rooftop opens 1/2 hour before game time, until 1/2 hour after. Alcoholic beverage service ends during the 7th inning.

WHAT DRINKS ARE TYPICALLY INCLUDED?

Beer includes a selection of domestic and craft beer, wine, soda, & bottled water. We will try our best to accommodate any specific special requests, although additional charges may apply. Please note that the sale of hard liquor is prohibited per our licenses.

ARE MY OPTIONS REFUNDABLE?

Unfortunately not. Once you have purchased the option, much like a sporting event, it is yours. All sales are final.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY TEAM DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR THE GAME?

If your team does not play the game, or the game never happens, you will not receive a refund for the price of your option, but there is no obligation to buy a ticket.

Eh, no thanks.

It's pretty absurd that they don't set an actual purchase price once you buy the option. If I'm reading it correctly, $145 buys you the right to buy a World Series rooftop ticket for approximately $600 more. So $745 all in, and if they don't make it to that game, you're out the $145.

Great idea for them to make some additional cash as they were going to sell out anyways, but I'd be pretty wary of jumping on that. The fact that the price isn't set means, in theory, they're just going to set the final price to whatever they think the market value is, which eliminates the advantage of buying an option in the first place.

i wonder how far they'd have go veer away from $600 for "approximately" to objectively be considered a lie

You wouldn't.

Man am I glad my wife made me keep renewing our season tickets when we were taking a bath on them.

Your wife is clearly a saint.

I'll be back in Chicago for the Series if they make it but I'll probably stick to some of my old haunts instead of paying the $3000 to get in the door. And then party my horsefeathers off when we clinch it.

Are they supposed to send out emails today to those who won? Or is that just general impatience?

It's typically been 1-2 days after the registration closes if I recall correctly.

Anyone want to team up, if they get selected you buy a seat for the other if they don't, and vice versa? I really really don't want to be shut out again this year
