I can't believe we were in a division last year where the top 3 teams finished with 97-100 wins.

It's not shocking that the Cards have fallen well off their 2015 pace, given that they had an historic outlier pitching wise, and being that they lost their best position player (by WAR) and pitcher from last year. Mozeliak gambled on guys like Grichuk, Wong, etc., and that gamble has failed. Of course Aledmys Diaz has been pretty great, but he's the exception. Their defense is horrific, and that has impacted their pitching staff. And Rosenthal turned into a pumpkin.

And I think that the Cards FO greatly underestimated the effect age would have on guys like Wainwright and Holliday (he's healthy and not hitting, I was assured that was something that did not happen). The Cardinals are getting old, and just aren't all that talented. Oh, and Mike Matheny is a dunce.

Pittsburgh is a more curious case to me, and a huge part of their disappointing season stems from Andrew McCutchen suddenly and inexplicably turning into a near replacement level player. And Liriano turning into Mr. Hyde. That team should be better than it is.

Lol the Cardinals are own 4-0 against the Reds in the 9th inning. They had a beautiful set up of 9 games in a row of Reds-Braves-Reds and are about to lose like 4 games in the standings to the Cubs.

It's possible the Cubs could win fewer games than the 2015 Cubs and win the division by 10+ games. Such is life.

Wow runner on 1st with 2 outs up 4-0 and suddenly the tying run is on base. Not that the outcome matters much but it's always nice to extend the lead and always nice for Cardinals to lose

And just like that, the Reds pitching flounders. Up 4-0 with two outs in the 9th, and Cingrani gives up a two-run single to Carp. First and third with two out and Piscotty up.

And Piscotty singles to make it 4-3. Tying run on second, winning run on first and Holiday is up. Holiday draws thew walk.

Way to go, Reds!! #-o

Seriously. Up 4 runs with 2 outs in the 9th and a runner on 1st

Reds lose 5-4. How do you allow 5 runs on 3 hits, none for extra bases. That's insane ineptitude

Seriously, if you're having trouble finding your spots in a close game in gbr ninth, maybe slow the horsefeathers down a little.

you have to DFA multiple players and fire multiple coaches after this game

Nah, they're rebuilding, and their pen just did what their pen has done all year.

Price probably needs to be fired after the season, though. He's terribad.
