So to summarize this night up....offense is good, pitching is stupid.

Through 3IP, the Eugene pitcher has allowed no hits, no walks and has struck out six.

The Tony Campana trade is finally paying off!

So...I bumped up both Vogelbach and Happ a couple spots in my rankings. The Vogelbach one was an overdue adjustment. He has been mashing like you'd expect a 1B/DH prospect to mash for a while now. With Happ, I'm giving him at least temporary credit for this start to AA. My opinions of Eloy and Gleyber haven't changed at all. But this run by Happ has been unreal.

vogelbach seems to be turning his fat guy/batting practice power into game power.

considering some of the pathetic DH's going around for AL clubs these days, i would think he'd be in high demand from that league.

Also Tennessee's 12-1 has gone unremarked aside from Happ's night. McKinney, Caritini, Young, and Hanneman went 8-14 with 2 doubles, and a triple. Still 2 bases short of KB even if you include the 2 walks.

I'd bet the Yankees would be interested.

Only as a throw-in with Kris Bryant.

Yeah I bumped Vogelbach a little earlier too from 12 up to 8 ahead of my two lottery tickets. Before this I'd just looked at his season K rate of 20% and written him off a little. But with Ks trending down and these uuuuge power numbers he looks like a different guy.

Same thing on Happ. The numbers are just getting too crazy. Short stops are important and Torres has been raking and walking and is young and ranked highly by everyone but Happ is just on another level, has been for a while, and his defensive numbers at second look pretty good. So...yeah weighing that one out. May be copying you soon.

I've been bummed out for a whole year now on missing out on Benintendi. And, while I still like Benintendi more (I'll always prefer guys with super low K-rates), it's not inconceivable that we got what will end up being the better player. Happ's been so good lately that I don't even care anymore.

I'd certainly still pick Benintendi having the higher floor. but Happ is catching up to him as a prospect.

Erick Leal has actually been halfway decent for the Pelicans.

Also, holy horsefeathers. Castillo has 1 H, 1 BB, and 11 Ks in 5 IP for the Ems

Also, Happ had 4 errors in his first 5 games this year. Three since.

With a RF/9 of like 4.35 aka about .10 behind career Zobrist.

Yeah, I really, really like Benintendi, too. So me becoming complacent is a minor miracle in and of itself.

ETA: good stat btw. I remembered he started off a little rough but didn't remember it was that bad. 3 errors in 2.5 months is awesome

Yeah, I felt the same way about missing Benintendi but his struggles at AA compared to Happ's recent run and hot start at AA have me feeling better.

Happ is 20 for his last 29 with 7 doubles and 3 home runs

i'm calling this guy Motel Shower

(only runs scorching hot / ice cold)

will also work when he's included in a trade for a good pitcher

(place you will randomly find a body)
