i don't even understand the sentimental castro love faction. he was REALLY bad for a couple of years, he never had the type of game most of us like (he didn't walk OR dong...he was basically really good at being a slappy hitter with an occasional hint of pop), he loved to do embarrassing things in the field (and none of what i said takes away from the fact that at other times he was a pretty good young player too), oh, and there was that whole might be a rapist thing that nobody seems to care about anymore.

Yup. Totally agree. I didn't hate him at all, but he just wasn't that good and certainly not somebody to be that in love with. The walk-up music was cool, though.

But this ain't no A-Ram or anything.

A soulless robot and the anti-dong guy don't get it. Makes sense.

Hahahahaha. I adore dongs. I just understand you can't crave or expect dongs all the time.

And why does a dong-lover even love Starlin?

but why is kane this monster (not saying you're wrong on this) and starlin is totally just a joyful fun loving kid who smiles a lot? was there some sort of concrete evidence in his favor that came out that i'm not remembering or something?

I might as well be trying to explain passion to a tree stump.

Because I like Starlin Castro and hate Patrick Kane.

Ignoring the rapist thing as much as I can, as well as the fact that people get shot in his vicinity, there are a couple of reasons why I love him. 1) he came up during a period when the Cubs could not really produce position players from their system, it was awesome to see us have a young guy with skies the limit potential 2) hitting a 3 run bomb in his first ab, endearing moment 3) he was really the only thing to be mildly excited about for a couple of years. He dealt with a lot of [expletive] years here and didn't complain like others *cough*Samardzija*cough* 4) he just seemed like a fun loving guy overall, his teammates seemed to like him 5) he created the helmet rub which was awesome 6) the clapping song

I feel like all of this stuff is accurate......but not much was about how well he performed except for his pro debut. And then when you have to use the term "mildly excited" to describe him, I just feel like maybe he wasn't really that good.
