Been raining here in San Diego all morning. Rain is in the forecast for the next week, which is quite weird. Anyway, I'd expect the roof to be closed for this entire series.

Closed. Opened. We're the team with the dongs.

Nice AoD reference.

Does anyone have an idea of what the Cubs will do once Baez is off the DL, probably as soon as Monday?

Is this still the case? Last I saw from AZPhil had Baez getting plunked in the head down in EXST and that he hasn't seen the field since.

I think I saw an article about the dbacks looking for cf help. Maybe showcase him this series and then trade him. Even if Baez isn't ready bring up Kawasaki until he is. Not like we need the back of the bench for awhile.

Maybe they should DFA Rat Boy to make a spot for Baez.

Rat Boy has more value to the team than Szczur and that's coming from a Rat Boy hater fan club member

Hmm. Lackey with no HR's in 13 years. Time to fix that.

I hope Hammel took him under his wing this spring to teach him how to hit, at least facetiously

This is gonna an Edmonds situation for me.

The toughest thing is that Lackey just has the most punchable face that I've ever seen. He could be pitching a perfect game in the World Series and while I might love him at that point, I'd still really want to punch him in the face. It's almost like an involuntary reflex. Combine that with his questionable personal life and he's got a bit of an uphill battle to climb although I'm obligated to like him as a Cub.

You have anger issues and should seek treatment.

I think he looks lovely.

When Lackey was snarling during the playoff game last year I hated him and wanted to throw him down a flight of stairs. I will accept him on our team and accept that my fandom made me hate the opponent, even if he is/was an ass off the field. I've been a major ass plenty, so I can sympathize. (Never divorced my cancer stricken wife, though)

We didn't draw any walks the last game. This must be amended. 8 BB and 4 dongs.

As for Lackey, I've never liked him and never will. But, that won't stop me from rooting for him while he is pitching. I hope he does well and helps us win a World Series. There are a lot of shitty people out there, and some are certain to be baseball players. Some we probably don't even know how shitty they are. I would rather every Cub be as amiable as Rizzo, but I can forgive having one reprehensible character on the team if we are going to win upwards of 100 games.

Anyone else have Cox MLB Extra Innings? I understand that they share their baseball channels with hockey package channels, but all the 670's where I usually watch games has NHL scheduled. Wtf?
